HISTORY

The pull in Mt. Upton started out for garden tractors during Community Days. One of the members owns a pulling truck, and the suggestion was made to have a pull with trucks and tractors. That was the beginning of Wild Wheels Weekend. The old football field behind the old elementary school was discovered to be  a natural pulling track, so that was chosen as the location.

The only separation between the pulling vehicles and the spectators was the snow fence when the pulls first started. There are guard rails between them, now.

There are now guard rails on the tent side as well.

As you can see, we put the scales in during the winter. This is some of the group with one of our regular antique tractor drivers.

For the 2005 season, we added poles with larger lights for better lighting at night. We couldn't have done it without NYSEG's help.

We need more lights for the pit area, and more bleachers so the spectators can have someplace to sit. There have been major improvements to the track, as you can see. None of it would have been done without the support of the pullers and the spectators. Thanks to everyone, and we hope to continue seeing you at Wild Wheels Weekend.
