LAST WEEKEND WAS GREAT
Mother Nature co-operated for us. It rained all around us, but not over us until the pull had ended.

The 8 HP class had a lot of younger pullers, and I think we 'hooked' them in more ways than one! Some adults hooked for the first time, and they are ready to go again.

Ryan and his family were there again, and Ryan got to set on a lot of the tractors.

I think I could safely classify this as a kids weekend (kids of ALL ages). Everyone had such a good time, and everyone is excited about coming back next year.

The chicken Bar-B-Q, put on by the Lion's Club, sold out, so it was a good weekend for everyone.

We had a new vendor this time. Bob Conway, from Cortland, was there and took pictures that he could immediately transfer to just about anything--from tee-shirts to sweat-shirts to posters to mouse pads to key chains. If you were there he might have taken your picture. He can be contacted at Siberpop Photography

We had a very special presentation to Ryan this weekend. Rawlings Sports, Dolgeville, made a baseball bat for him, and everyone we could find autographed it. It came with a special case so it can be hung on the wall.

We helped Ryan at the Wild Wheels Weekend event, and decided to use any profits from this pull for him as well. We all had such a good time with him and his family. He is such a cutie!!!!

Roaring Thunder for Kids will remain an active pull for the garden tractors.

This is a picture of the Wild Wheels Weekend group:
Back row: Julian, Mel W., Beth, Joyce, Tina, Pat, Jim, Pete, Randy & Bake.
Front row: Kathy, Joe, Bill, Billy Joe  (missing Paul).

As you can see, the core group from the previous Wild Wheels Weekend, is the same. There were things happening that we didn't like, and we owned the incorporation, so we went on to do our own thing. Roaring Thunder for Kids was the first event. We did that to kind of step back and get our own perspective on how we wanted things to happen, and we hoped we would be able to put the fun back in the pull. WE DID!!!
Everyone had a good time with the garden tractors and the mini-mods. When we went home Sunday, we all agreed it had been a fantastic week-end; we all had smiles on our faces; and much anticipation for the next event. We haven't been able to do that in a couple of years.

Roaring Thunder for Kids is the name of the newest pulling event in Mt. Upton.  The pulls will still be held at the track behind the school, but the vehicles will be smaller. It will continue to be not-for-profit with the profit (NOT proceeds) from these events going for medical bills for children or improvements to the park and the village of Mt. Upton.
